Assoc. Prof. Dr.Kwanchit Sasiwongsaroj


Kwanchit Sasiwongsaroj is an associate professor at Research Institute for Languages and Cultures of Asia, Mahidol University, Thailand. She received her PhD in Demography from Mahidol University. In 2014-2015, she was a postdoctoral fellow at Kyoto University, Japan and a visiting fellow at University of Vienna, Austria (2011, 2013, 2015 and 2018). Much of her work has focused on cultural and migration-based diversity and its consequences on health and well-being and integration and social inclusion of immigrants in a host society. More recently, she has expanded her research interests to multicultural co-existence, transnational aging, retirement migration and old age care. Her current research includes projects on care migration in old age to Thailand of Japanese and Western retirees, sense of belonging of second-generation immigrants and co-existence in Thai society amidst cultural diversity resulting from immigration of migrant workers from Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar.
